Rafi Ourfalian is the quintessential American success story. Arriving in Los Angeles by himself as an ambitious teenager with nothing more than the "American Dream" in his heart, Rafi worked menial jobs on his way through college and a law degree.
Graduating from U.W. L.A. in 1980, Rafi worked in the legal field as an associate attorney for a short time but soon thereafter embarked on building the boutique firm he now heads. Through hard work and a lot of dedication the Law Offices of Rafi Ourfalian boasted a dozen attorneys and an extensive professional staff in less than a decade! The firm has also had offices in San Francisco, couple of branch offices elsewhere in California and affiliates in Europe. Many of the firm's clients have remained with the firm from its inception until present.
In addition to a highly successful legal practice Rafi Ourfalian has been a civic and community leader and a supporter of the Arts throughout his adult life. He has been a leading force in "Armenian" causes leading and participating in many endeavors large and small. He has served on numerous charitable Boards. During the last decade, in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, Rafi Ourfalian led many efforts in assisting Armenia and Karabakh into the modern world and pioneered hitherto unprecedented collaboration and fund-raising in that regard.
In addition to participation in many civic and charitable organizations, Mr. Rafi Ourfalian is certified for both State and Federal courts and has had long standing memberships in Federal, County and State Trial and Consumer Lawyers Associations, as well as many other professional associations.
Sarkis Ourfalian while working with his brother during the day attended law school at night and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree at U.W. L.A. on June 1987. Sarkis originally had wanted to be a "chemist" and did in fact study chemistry as an undergraduate, however, while doing a part time stint as a law clerk at the Law Offices of Rafi Ourfalian, he fell in love with the legal practice and switched unto a career in law.
Since then Sarkis, initially an associate at the Law Offices of Rafi Ourfalian, in a few short years was already performing the position of senior associate, then managing attorney and in 1998 became a partner to the renamed firm of Ourfalian & Ourfalian.
Sarkis is married to Laura and has two beautiful children, Talar and Sebou.
Throughout his career Sarkis has been active in civic and community affairs and holds memberships in many civic and charitable organizations as well as professional associations. Sarkis is certified to practice law in both State and Federal Courts.
Experienced and highly skilled, Sarkis enjoys the respect and support of both clients and peers. For many clients Sarkis has been the calming influence, the extended hand, the friend and advisor in their time of need and distress.
